Yeah, that's right. All i get are stupid loud beeps in the place of sound.
It started as the sound not being there sometimes, then I would have to reboot the system a few times to get it back, then it vanushed and after a long time, reappeared, but the next time I started it, it was gone. Now it's gone entirely. I happen to think that a virus may have caused this. Problem is, it I have to wait until Friday next week before I can download an antivirus to get it off my laptop.
But another suspicion I'm having is that it may be doe to my laptop getting old. But then 've never heard of a laptop losing sound capabilities because of age.

us the instaler disk of your operative sistem to repair the .sis files or conct another hardDisk with the same operative sistem and reboot it once (it should automaticlay start a repair program).
I this doesnt work try getting the audio drivers reinstalled (you'll have to find the CD that comes with your Audio-board or the one that comes tih you mother-board)
